Fascia Based Choreography: Moving from the Authentic Body
Fascia is the body’s living connective web, a responsive architecture that shapes how we move, sense, and create. This offering invites dancers and movers to explore choreography that emerges from within rather than being imposed by technique alone.
In this workshop, Anne offers a comprehensive introduction to fascia, the myofascial system, and the body’s interconnected networks through this lens. Participants engage in exploratory movement practices that awaken the fascial web, deepen awareness of bodily interconnectedness, and inspire choreographic creation sourced from the authentic body.
This work asks essential questions of the moving self, inviting interoceptive engagement, authentic movement initiation, and the cultivation of body intelligence.
~ How can we step beyond technique driven movement and tap into a more authentic expression of our being?
~ How can cutting edge body wisdom, rooted in fascia and biotensegrity, inform and empower the way we choreograph and move?
~ How can dancers cultivate sustainability in their practice so they can continue dancing throughout their lives?
